Swan Lake by Messiah Dance Theatre

Messiah Dance Theatre is putting on Thumbelina and Swan Lake Sat Dec 12 and Sat Dec 19. I shot some of the dress rehearsal for the Swan Lake portion. I was back stage and performing for most of the show so this is truly a tiny preview of the entire event.

The Stulkens

As one of my first portrait opportunities I found this challenging. I was asked to take a nice portrait of the Stulken family all smiling at the camera. I didn't realize how hard it is to get a picture where 5 people are all smiling with their eyes open! Also, I would've loved to spend many more hours with them and take creative portraits, but we only had about an hour to travel to a few different locations around town.

The MSUM girls rugby hosted Concordia, NDSU, and UND in a tournament on Saturday. As part of an annual tradition, the girls competed in prom dresses.

The Dragons were defeated by the Huskies 0-47. The halftime entertainment included the dance team along with students performing to "Thriller" and there was a children's as well as student's costume contest.

Japan Club cleans up act

I got to photograph the MSUM Japan Club this week for The Advocate. Besides spending their Saturday morning picking up trash around campus, they spent many hours rehearsing a Japanese dance to be performed at a big event called "Japan Night" coming up on Oct 30th. See MSUM Japan club's facebook site for more info. I hope to take some photos that night as well.
